28 Day BreathTaking Challenge
MindSpire offers a 4 week programme using our breathtaking science. This involves using a special rate of personalised slow breathing, which resonates with changes in your heart rate, as you breathe in and out. When you are "resonant" breathing, your brain receives signals from your heart and diaphragm, via the vagus nerve, to activate your "rest and digest" response.
We measure this through changes in your heart rate variability (HRV) which you will see increase over the 30 days, along with a drop in your resting heart rate and blood pressure. This is because the resonant breathing also strengthens your baroreflex, the part of your heart which helps keep your blood pressure constant.
The challenge is available online and administered through a mobile app with the help of a small ear clip that accurately measures your heart rate and heart rate variability.
